Drawing is one of my primary professional interests, and it is fundamental to the way that I see and understand architecture. In my travels, I use sketching as a way of seeing. The following sketches are taken from my travels in Italy in summer of 2019, and explore architecture through line and color. In addition to investigating architectural qualities of form, light/shadow, and density, the sketches also aim at an understanding of the way in which buildings help to shape the urban environment and structure social spaces.
