This project is a full-scale responsive environment and media installation that takes advantage of a blank, visible exit stair that fronts the main business artery of Blacksburg, Virginia.  It is intended to encourage spatial consciousness by employing a contextual approach. The work searches for means to engage the idea of interaction as an intensifier of spatial experience, and strengthens the use of media technology by using it as a perceptual bridge between the participant and their environment. In an age where increasing attention is being given to global issues, the extension of technologies into scales beyond the individual participant promises to broaden the reach of media architecture.  [fore]Casting Nets takes advantage of this position by responding to climate data at multiple different scales that could potentially effect global influence.  The cylindrical volumes are each netted by hand by the project team.  Images are taken from a full-scale mock up at the Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg.
